(March 31, 2016 – Montréal, Québec) Virtual reality seems to be everywhere. Just one example we’ve noticed is The Daily Planet show on the Discovery channel seems to always have at least item on virtual reality in every episode. All of the top gaming consoles, PlayStation, Oculus Rift, Virtuix Omni, to name just a few, come to mind. But producing the content takes special skills and special software. That’s where this city’s Mettle comes in.
Mettle is a production studio that develops plugins for use with Adobe software and at this year’s NAB they will be showcasing their latest VR tools. In fact they will present all of their 360 VR tools at NAB, along with an impressive line-up of VR filmmakers at their booth (N8623) in the AR/VR Pavilion. Visitors will have a chance to meet the artists, experience samples of their work, and see their 360/VR production workflows using the Mettle 360/VR tools together with Adobe® After Effects® CC and Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC.
At the show, Mettle will demo SkyBox Studio for Adobe After Effects CC and SkyBox 360/VR Tools for Adobe Premiere Pro CC, as well as the company’s free player, SkyBox VR Player for Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Chris Bobotis, Developer and co-founder of Mettle, will host several presentations on Cinematic 360/VR production, along with the list of guest presenters including:
Tim Conners, Travis Cook and Dirk Wallace, Mikey Borup, Connor Hair, Tobias Chen, Tristain Cezair, Jamie Hall, Mary Poplin, Mike Sevigny, Lewis Smithingham and Charles Yeager.
“We are incredibly proud and excited to be able to bring such a talented array of artists to the Mettle booth in the AR/VR Pavilion at NAB,” said Chris Bobotis. “Their 360/VR productions are shaping the medium of cinematic 360/VR and, I truly believe, changing the way stories can be told.”
Mettle SkyBox Studio for Adobe After Effects CC, and SkyBox 360/VR Tools for Adobe Premiere Pro CC are available for trial download and purchase from the Mettle website. SkyBox VR Player for Adobe Premiere Pro CC is available as a free download.
The NAB Show runs from April 16 to 21st at the Las vegas Convention Centre.
