(August 31, Vancouver, BC) The silent, usually unreported industry war between Toronto and Vancouver to claim the title as Hollywood North continues. The abundance of studio space, proximity to Hollywood, and a city populated by some of the best crews and craft people in the biz keeps the city humming. If you look at just the numbers, Vancouver stands tall and proud. In fact, direct spending on Film & TV production in British Columbia totalled more than $2 billion in 2014 making Vancouver the 3rd largest production centre in all of North America. And people? Over 34,000 direct and indirect jobs are generated by Film & TV production in BC, with more than 80 per cent of those jobs located in Metro Vancouver.
