Ricardo Trogi

Ricardo Trogi is a director screenwriter and sometime actor. He made a number of short films between 1994 and 1999 including Second Chance (1999) which screened at the Cannes Film Festival. This short and several others that were part of the series La course destination monde, which allowed young filmmakers a chance to make short documentaries around the world. Trogi won third place in that competition. He went on to direct television commercials for McDonalds and LottoQuebec and then moved on to making feature films. His first a low-budget GenX roadtrip comedy Québec-Montréal was a boxoffice hit and won four Jutra Awards including Best Picture Director and Screenplay. His third feature 1981 was selected to open the 2009 Montréal World Film Festival. Originally from Québec City, Trogi lives and works in Montréal.
