Paul Quarrington

Paul Quarrington was a musician acclaimed nonfiction writer and novelist and an awardwinning screenwriter and filmmaker His most recent novel The Ravine published in 2008 was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize his previous novel Galveston was shortlisted for the Giller Quarrington won the Stephen Leacock Medal for emKing Learyem a title that also won the 2008 Canada Reads competition emWhale Musicem won the Governor Generalrsquos Award for Fiction and was one of several of his novels adapted as a feature film His screenplays and story editing won many awards most recently the CFPTA Indie Award for Comedy for the series emMoose TVem In May 2009 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer He died at his home in Torontobrbrbr
