(September 27, 2023 – Toronto, ON) In case you’re not counting, the original Orphan Black series aired its last of 50 episodes on August 12, 2017. Ever since, fans have wondered, hoped, there would be a sequel. Today, Boat Rocker announced what must be great news for the legion of original fans. Coming soon, Orphan Black: Echoes.

Boat Rocker, an independent, integrated global entertainment company, today announced a raft of international sales of its long-awaited new series. Starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad) and British actress Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, Line of Duty) the spin-off remains firmly anchored in the world of the original landmark series. John Fawcett returns as Director of the new series and the cast includes Canadian actors Marnie McPhail and Avan Jogia. Los Angeles-born Amanda Fix, recently seen in North of Normal, is also in the cast. Shot in 4K, there are 10 episodes planned for the first series of Orphan Black: Echoes, the same number of episodes as Orphan Black.

Set in the near future, Orphan Black: Echoes takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. The show follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal. Anna Fishko is showrunner.
