Tout est Parfait (Everything Is Fine) is a movie about teenage suicide. The story centres on Josh, a seemingly ordinary 16-year-old who lives in an ordinary suburb, wedged between the high school, the mine and the skate park. One morning, he finds his friend Thomas’ dead body. Next, he discovers that three more friends have also killed themselves, leaving him out of their pact and leaving behind no explanation. As the sole survivor, Josh becomes more and more detached from the world around him with the exceptions of Mia (Chloe Bourgeois), the girlfriend of one of the dead boys, and Henri (Normand D’Amour), Thomas’ father. Despite help from a psychiatrist (Pierre-Luc Brillant), Josh clearly doesn’t want to reconnect.
Tout est Parfait had its world premiere, as part of the Panorama program, at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival.
