Based on the Margaret Laurence novel, The Stone Angel is a look into the long and unconventional life of one Hagar Shipley (Ellen Burstyn) as she tries to come to terms with the decisions she has made over her 90 years. Her passionate heart has always ruled her head and, very often, her choices have put her at odds with family and friends. Now, as she nears the end of her life, Hagar reflects on the life she has led, the men she has loved and lost, and the sons she has estranged. The Stone Angel premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007.
