Someone Lives Here is a modern-day David and Goliath story, set against the backdrop of North America’s housing crisis in general and the city of Toronto’s housing issues in particular, a carpenter named Khaleel Seivwright sets out to build small, life-saving shelters for unhoused people living outside during the winter of the COVID-19 pandemic. His actions attract international attention, but also staunch opposition from city officials. The “cast” listed below are not actors but the names of real people who participated in this film. Someone Lives Here was named to the Toronto International Film Festival’s annual Canada’s Top Ten list for 2023 and was selected for Northernstars™ Top 10 of 2023 as well.
