Set in Pangnirtung, Nunavut, a sleepy hamlet nestled in the majestic mountains of Baffin Island in the Arctic Ocean, Maika (Tasiana Shirley) convinces her best friends, Jesse, Leena and Uki to sneak out of town for the day on a boat they don’t have permission to take. On the tundra, the girls spot what they think is a polar bear. But its strange skin hangs loose, its eyes look dead, and it moves jerkily. Instead of running away, Uki grabs Maika’s rifle and fires at the bear, startling it. A typical summer day in the far north is turned upside down when the girls an alien invasion threatening their hometown.
