Rouge Sang (aka The Storm Within) is set during a snow storm on New Year’s Eve, 1799 at an isolated farm in Québec’s St. Lawrence Valley. The celebration for the year to come turns into hell for a young mother when she is forced to host five British soldiers. Over this long, stormy night, tension rises and culminates in unimaginable acts. But who is the victim and who is the aggressor? In the light of dawn and at the very beginning of a new year, it would seem like the events of the previous night are moving in a very different direction.
Rouge Sang picked up three Canadian Screen Award nominations for Best Actress nod for Isabelle Guérard and two nominations for the music of Michel Cusson, for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
