Set in the fictional town of Potter’s Bluff, and four years after a mysterious disease has killed off all of the adults, the orphaned children have gravitated into two territorial gangs. Somewhat predictably, the poor kids live on the East Side of the town’s bridge and the rich kids live on the West Side. The West Side gang, easily identified since their members wear varsity jackets, is led by Bully Jeremy (Munro Chambers). They spread fear by carrying out public executions. The rival East Side loses its leader Jack (Alexandre Bourgeois), when he is captured by the murderous West Siders. Jack’s sister Nat (Madison Iseman) and Scratch (Paloma Kwiatkowski) are determined to get him back safely. They are offered help by a former West Side member who has run away from the gang, but can West Side Sony (Ajay Friese) be trusted in this urban game of thrones.
Riot Girls was filmed in Parry Sound, Hamilton and Toronto.
