Manufacturing Dissent is a documentary that sets out to separate the facts, fiction and legend behind the award-winning American filmmaker, Michael Moore. The Canadian filmmakers began following Moore in May 2004 and through new and archival footage track him and his activities before, during and after the release of his explosive film, Fahrenheit 9/11. The movie is held together by recurring attempts by the Canadian filmmakers to get Moore to agree to an interview. Shades of Moore`s own film, Roger & Me. Manufacturing Dissent is an exploration of the truthfulness in Moore`s films and, therefore, an exploration of the man who has used truth, or at least his version of it, so effectively as a weapon in his films.
