The story takes place on New Year`s Day in Montreal during a snow storm. Jos, a man is his seventies, has died. Despite the day, despite the storm, family and friends make their way to the neighbourhood funeral home to pay their respects. Over the course of the day what should have been a somber occasion turns into a celebration, a party. The focus is on Jeanne, daughter of the dearly departed Jos, and his ex-wife, Blanche, played by Ginette Reno. As person after person tells their own story of Jos, a series of flashbacks unfold and we see the young Jos, played by David Boutin, and the young Blanche, played by Joëlle Morin in various vignettes. With each new story their daughter, Jeanne learns a little more, and hears for the first time some of the astonishing secrets about her parents.
