It’s a cold and confusing time in the mid-winter woods of northern Québec. It’s almost Christmas. Katou and François (or Katie and Francis, as the children were called in the English over-dubbed version of the movie titled The Christmas Martian), are thrilled to be on vacation playing outdoors in the snow, switching happily from sleigh to snowshoes, skis to toboggan. But at the same time, a Martian has been assigned to pilot an important mission to Earth. His mission means delaying time with his son but the clever Martian child finds a way to sneak onto the father`s ship and ends up getting into the middle of a mess. The Martians had assumed that humans were violent and awful based on TV images transmitted to Mars. But after landing, the Martian quickly gets lost. Katie and Francis find him and help him recover from his ordeal. The young Martian finds out that the Martian perception of Earth is not entirely true and their mission to destroy Earth is misguided. Together, father and son must now try to save the Earth.
