People sometimes ask what is it about Canadians that gives us the ability to generate lots of satirical TV shows, but so few situation comedies. The same could be said about our movies. Truth is, funny Canadian movies are few and far between. Going the Distance promises to be funny. The plot revolves around Nick, played by the highly-talented Christopher Jacot. Now, Nick may have only just graduated, but he has life all figured out. For him it`s marriage, a lucrative career and a totally different lifestyle from that of his West coast hippie parents. But when he learns that his future wife may have fallen prey to a powerful and oversexed music producer in Toronto, Nick is determined to win her back and the cross-Canada mayhem begins. Nick hits the road with best pals, and dedicated surfers, Tyler and Dime who decide to turn this road trip into the adventure of his life. With only six days to make it to Toronto they stop to pick up a couple of hitchhikers, Sasha and Jill. Naturally this only complicates things and a series of accidents, orchestrated by a malevolent stranger, sabotage the trip.
