If there is one truism that is really true it is the fact that life is always full of surprises. Black Eyed Dog is set in the Miramichi Valley of New Brunswick and tells the story of waitress and hopeful singer, Betty. She has always wanted to make it big and has dreamed of making her big debut. But when a shocking series of crimes occur in her hometown along the Miramichi River her life takes an unexpected turn. Apparently she will not make her debut as a singer on the world stage after all, but in the hometown she has been trying to leave for a long time. This movie should not be confused with the 1999 film, also titled Black Eyed Dog which was about a struggling Irish rock group.
