Maxwell Charles Cohen wrote scripts for more than 200 US and Canadian TV shows including iRoots Dark Victory Young Joe The Forgotten Kennedyi and iThe First Circlei a CanadaFrance coproduction adapted from the Alexander Solzhenitsyn novel He also wrote iThe Drylandersi the first feature film produced by the National Film Board of Canada In 1988 he was presented with the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television lifetime achievement award He died of cancer at the age of 71
