Jason Reitman is a director, actor, writer, and producer, and the son of Ivan Reitman. Although born in Montréal, he grew up in Los Angeles and studied creative writing at the University of Southern California. He began his career with several short films, including In God We Trust, Operation, H@, Gulp, Uncle Sam, and Consent. Reitman received widespread acclaim for his 2009 film Up in the Air, which earned him the title of Director of the Year at the 2010 Palm Springs Film Festival. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Director, and achieved a total of 165 nominations from various festivals and organizations, with 65 wins across categories such as Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Film.
