LaLonde’s award-winning sophomore feature, Sex After Kids, premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and is nominated for seven Canadian Comedy Awards. LaLonde’s other credits include The Untitled Work of Paul Shepard; the short films Bastards and the award-winning Out (Official TIFF 2013 selection). Bastards is in development as a TV series with the NSI: Totally Television program.
How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town is a comedy about a group of friends who live in the picturesque town of Beaver’s Ridge whose orderly lives get interrupted with the homecoming of big city sex writer Cassie Cranston (Staite). When her former friends want to spice up their sex lives, she`s sees her chance for revenge… and to make some money in the form of a book she owes to her publisher. Jordan Walker (The Privileged) and Chris Bennett (Solo) are producing, while Jeremy LaLonde, Avi Federgreen (One Week) and Ryan Goldhar (I Put a Hit on You) are executive producing.
The film is financed with the participation of Telefilm Canada’s Canada Feature Film Fund. In addition, LaLonde is mid-way through a crowd funding initiative to raise $100K through an Indiegogo campaign. According to the website the film has attracted over $75,000 to date with the online fund-raising campaign set to expire on Saturday, September 13. |
