Henry MacRae had a long and highly successful career In the late 1920s he began to shift his focus to producing and long after he gave up directing in 1933 he remained active in Hollywood until his death in 1944 Starting in the silent era he was one of a number of Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood He is credited with such innovations as using artificial light for interiors the wind machine double exposures and shooting at night His first talkie also happened to be the first Tarzan movie to be shot with sound emTarzan the Tigerem in 1929 brbrbr
