Canadians and The 2020 Emmy Awards

(July 28, 2020 – Los Angeles, California) The 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations have been announced and it should come as no surprise that the most-nominated series was HBO’s Watchmen, picking up 26 nominations in all. HBO has often been at the top of the list when it comes to total nominations, but this year Netflix has jumped ahead breaking the record with 160 nominations in all. In 2019 HBO set the record at 137.

Mostly an American awards show, which is to be expected, Canadian productions and people were well represented when the nominations were announced and the Canadian comedy series Schitt’s Creek earned 15 nominations.

Today’s announcement was made by Leslie Jones. The winners will be announced on September 20. And the nominations are…
