Andrew Currie

Andrew Currie grew up in Victoria, British Columbia and studied Arts before starting work in the television industry as a news editor, then news director and commercial editor. He moved to Vancouver where he attended the Film Program at Simon Fraser University graduating with a film degree. He also completed the Directors residency at the Canadian Film Centre in 1997 where he made the short film Night of The Living, which won an impressive array of awards from festivals around the world. A founding partner in Anagram Pictures, Currie made the critically acclaimed drama Mile Zero in 2001, winning awards around the world. He then directed and cowrote the popular and subversive zombie comedy FIDO which had its world premiere at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival. His production Lawrence Holloman won Best Comedy Feature at the 2014 Canadian Comedy Awards. His 2024 film The Invisibles was selected to open the 2024 Cinéfest Sudbury film festival.
