Born to a Scottish mother and a Tanzanian father, Venessa Morgan Mziray began to show a special talent when she was very young. The youngest of three children, she was six when she began singing. A graduate of the Colonel By Secondary School in her hometown, she went on to study philosophy at Kingston’s Queen’s University. She was only eight when she made her screen debut in the made for TV movie A Diva’s Christmas Carol. Mostly known for her role as Toni Topaz after joining the cast of Riverdale in 2017, its 2nd season, she continued in the series for six more seasons. In October 2023, CBC announced that Morgan would costar with fellow Canadian Giacomo Gianniotti in a new series titled Wild Cards.
