Teresa Pavlinek started her professional career as a member of The Toronto Second City. While still at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, she was chosen by the late Tim Sims to join the Second City Touring Company. After a couple of years honing her improv comedy skills she was promoted to the Second City Mainstage where she wrote and performed three ground breaking shows – all nominated for Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Pavlinek once told an interviewer that her biggest claim to fame was the fact she was the tallest comic actress after the late Bea Arthur. She played the role of Ann Patterson in the 2020 series Mrs. America.
