Ted Dykstra

Ted Dykstra is a Gemini Award-winning actor, director and composer. Although he was born in Ontario, he grew up in Edmonton. He made his professional theatre début in Odd Jobs when he was just 15 years old. He has composed music for theatres across the country and he is a founding member of the Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto where he makes his home with his wife, Juno Award-winning singer, Melanie Doane. Dykstra has directed numerous stage productions in Toronto including Fool for Love, Aladdin (Dora nomination), The Dumb Waiter, Tequila Vampire Matinee (Dora Nomination), Science Fiction, Scott Thompson’s Lowest Show on Earth, to name just a few of his theatre credits. He received a Gemini Award for his performance in Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion. Ted Dkystra played the role of Francis Pullman on the series Hemlock Grove He is a co-founder of Toronto’s Coal Mine Theatre.
