Shelley Thompson played the part of Barb Lahey on Trailer Park Boys. She spent much of her life and career in England and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In all, she lived and worked in England from 1983 until 1997. She returned to Canada to be a leading player at the newly created Atlantic Theatre Festival in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, where she settled. Thompson has appeared in leading roles in London’s West End and at the Royal National Theatre. She also appeared at numerous repertory theatres in Britain, always as a leading player. Her character work as an animation voice artist has included voices for Japanese Manga series and for the Dreamworks studio.
