Although born in Sudbury, Shannon Lawson grew up in Ottawa and graduated from the Drama Program at York University in Toronto, and the National Theatre School in Montreal. In 1997, she was nominated for a Gemini Award for her role in the television feature, The War Between Us. Shannon won a Gemini in October of 2000 for her role of Marly Lamarr in the TV series, The City.
