Sean O’Neill is a producer, director, writer, and the founder of Visitor Media, where he leads the company’s strategy and creative development. Since founding Visitor in 2020, Sean has produced the feature film Crystal Pite: Angels’ Atlas (2022), which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and won the festival’s Showcase Audience Award. He was the executive producer and co-showrunner of Lido TV (2022), a CBC Gem digital variety series created by the Grammy-nominated artist and musician Lido Pimienta, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been nominated for multiple Canadian Screen Awards, a Rockie Award, and a Canadian Cinema Editors Award. From 2017 to 2020, he co-created, executive produced and hosted the award-winning CBC arts documentary series In the Making, a primetime show that took viewers inside the lives and work of notable artists at pivotal moments of creation. Over two seasons, the Canadian Screen Award-winning series screened at MoMA PS1, the National Gallery of Canada, the Remai Modern, VIFF Cinema, and other festivals and museums across Canada. Visitor Media will premiere Swan Song in 2023, a four-part documentary series and feature film co-created by Sean and director Chelsea McMullan, who serve as co-showrunners. The project follows ballet legend Karen Kain and a group of dancers as they work to create a major new production of Swan Lake. Swan Song was selected to have its World Premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and the series will air on the CBC in Canada. The project is distributed internationally by Dogwoof. We list his credits as a Producer first.
