Ruth Marshall

Ruth Marshall made her feature film debut in the lead role of Candy in Love and Human Remains. Marshall is also a stage actor and was critically acclaimed for her one-woman performance in 4 Letters, 5 Years, which she wrote, produced and starred in. In 1994, Marshall took on the role of Celeste in Transit of Venus at the Globe Theater in Canada. The role required her character to span the ages of 15 to 30. In 2012, at 47 years-old, she ws diagnosed with a spinal meningioma, a tumour that had been growing between her shoulder blades for about a decade. The surgery to remove the tumour was complicated and that meant the rehab would be more complicated, too. She spent two months in a Toronto rehab centre working on basic motor skills. It took about six months for her life to return to normal. In addition to her career on screen, Marshall is a very accomplished voice actor as well.
