Rick Roberts has appeared in theatres all over Toronto, including appearances in The Piper at the Factory Theatre, Adam Baum and The Jew Movie at Can Stage, and Mayhem and the Naked Writer for Theatre Columbus. Roberts’ performance in the CBC biopic, Jack, was hailed by reviewers and audience members alike for its devotion to detail. Pictured above, Roberts was given the 2014 ACTRA Toronto Award for Outstanding Male Performance for his portrait of the former NDP leader Jack Layton. Unfortunately he couldn’t be in Toronto to pick up the award because… he was playing Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a Michael Healey’s play Proud at the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, B.C.
