Richard Waugh began his career with a small role in the made-for-television movie, Firing Squad. The movie was based on the true story of Canadian soldier, Private Harold Joseph Pringle of The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment who was executed during the Second World War in Italy in 1945 for murder. The novel Execution is a fictional treatment of this incident and is the basis of the movie.The CBC mini-series, Jimmy MacDonald’s Canada featured news and human interest stories adapted from the network`s 1960s archives and presented by a fictional 1960s host and commentator Jimmy MacDonald, who was portrayed by Richard Waugh. The 8-episode series was released on DVD. In addition to his work on-camera, Richard Waugh is also a voice actor and shows up in many video games.
