R. H. Thomson’s career represents an unbroken string of success on television, film and on the stage. Within a few short years of starting his career he earned a 1984 Genie Award for his portrayal of Will Sly in the film, If You Could See What I Hear. In 1989 he was given a Gemini as Best Lead Actor for his performance as Dr. Fred Banting in the made-for-TV movie, Glory Enough For All. He is pictured above with his 2018 Canadian Screen Award for his work as Matthew Cuthbert on the CBC-Netflix coproduction, Anne. In late 2018 he played the role of famed Canadian Marshall McLuhan in the stage production of The Message at Toronto’s Tarragon Theatre.
