Nicholas Lea was born Nicholas Christopher Schroeder. He attended art school in Vancouver in preparation for a career as a professional illustrator, but he had a constant longing to perform. For five years, he played guitar and sang as the frontman for the Vancouver alternative rock band Beau Monde. His first major role was in the 1983 biography of model Dorothy Stratten, Star 80, but his scenes were cut from the film. Best known for his 8 seasons portraying Alex Krycek on The X Files, and his lead role on John Woo’s Once A Thief, Nicholas Lea played the role of Agent Gardiner on the TV series Continuum.
