Myriam Cyr has been awarded Best Actress at the Houston, Charleston and New Orleans Film Festivals, as well as the French film festivals of Sarlat and Namur for Le secret de Jérôme. She is a member of the Royal National Theatre of London. Her first book, Letters of a Portuguese Nun, has all the elements of a great novel: Illicit love, lust, loss, war, intrigue, mystery and power — except it’s not a novel. The story is true. Primarily a theater actor, she was approached after a publisher saw her perform the letters as a one-woman show in New York. Four years later, Cyr had completed the book and added her voice to what is a centuries-old controversy.
