Mouna Traoré

Mouna Traoré is an actress and filmmaker. She was still very young when she took her first acting classes at Toronto’s famed Young Peoples Theatre. Later she would spend summers at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and then attended the prestigious Etobicoke School of the Arts, where she wrote and starred in several theatrical productions. At the University of Toronto Traoré majored in Caribbean Studies and minored in African Studies and Buddhism Psychology. After graduating, she lived in Berlin for several months modelling. She played the role of Crystal Markes in the internationally distributed Canadian series Rookie Blue, Rebecca James in the series Murdoch Mysteries (2015–2018), and Jill in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy (2020). Mouna Traoré plays Marlene Massey in the 2022 CBC mini-series The Porter.
