Mary Lewis

Mary Lewis grew up in St. John’s Newfoundland. She is an award-winning filmmaker, animator, writer and actor. Her animated short, The Sparky Book is based on the true story of the director’s 15 year old sister and the love and devotion shared between her and her dog. Narrated by Gordon Pinsent, it won the Golden Sheaf Award as Best Experimental Film at the Yorkton International Film Festival in 2007 and Best Screenplay at the Flicks International Children Film Festival also in 2007. The Sparky Book screened at the Atlantic Film Festival and St. John`s International Film Festival.
