Mark Hug

Mark Hug was raised on his family`s apple orchard in Creston Valley, British Columbia. His professional career seemed headed toward business, which he studied first at the University of Calgary and then at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. All that changed when he was sitting in a Calgary bar and was spotted my an agent looking for models. His intercontinental modeling career landed him on catwalks and advertisements for such fashion houses as Versace, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren. Intent on someday writing and directing, Hug gave up modeling to focus on film. He trained with acting teachers Anthony Abeson (NYC) and Julie Ariola (LA). He wrote, produced and starred in the play Out the Other Way, which premiered in Los Angeles at the Hudson Theatre in 2001. Meanwhile, he continued to work as a freelance Casting Director for photographer Bruce Weber, learning photography from one of today`s best photographers. That led to a photography exhibition of his own work; a collaboration project with May Charters called, Portraits & Polaroids that premiered La Deux Gallery in Los Angeles in 2002. They next turned their attention to a collaboration on their first feature film, Lovers in a Dangerous Time, which is a personal tale of small town Canadian romance that marked a return to Mark Hug`s childhood apple orchard.
