Marjo is the professional name of Marjolène Morin. She was a model, fashion editor for the magazine Madame, and manager of L’Air du temps, a Montreal jazz bar. She is best know for her career as a Canadian singer-songwriter. Working with Québec guitarist and composer Jean Millaire, Marjo co-composed some 40 songs. In 1965 she recorded the LP Celle qui viola, which sold some 250,000 copies. She won Félix Awards for rock LP, rock show, and female performer of 1987. In 1990 her CD Tant qu’il y aura des enfants confirmed her status as one of the greatest Québec stars of her generation. After appearing on television as a singer, in 2017 Marjo made her acting debut in Sophie Dupuis’ first feature, Chien de garde.
