Lorraine Pintal is a director/playwright and actor and she became the first female artistic director of the renowned Théâtre du Nouveau Monde in 1991. She began her career by studying at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal and then moved to England and France to practice her craft on stage. She moved back to Canada to work in theatre, film and television as an actor, director, playwright and producer. A member of the Order of Canada since 2002 she ran for office under the banner of the Parti Québecois in 2014 losing to the Liberal Party Candidate.
