Kim Coates is pictured at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards with his award for Best Lead Actor, Drama Series for his work in Bad Blood. Coates is best known recently for his role as Alex “Tig” Trager in the Sons of Anarchy series and movies. His film career began in 1991 with The Last Boy Scout but he is also comfortable on stage having appeared in over 50 plays in North America. At 27, he was the youngest actor to play Macbeth at Stratford, He most recently wrapped a lead in the epic six-part Netflix western mini-series Godless, written and directed by Scott Frank. In early 2018 he costarred (with Nicholas Campbell) in the the national premiere of the stage production of Jez Butterworth’s explosive masterwork, Jerusalem at Toronto’s Crow’s Theatre.
