Julia Stone appeared in a number of student films and small indie productions before posting her public audition tape on Facebook, which led to her first role in a feature, that of Elizabeth Gray in The Year Dolly Parton was My Mom. She was named one of four TIFF “Rising Stars” in 2014. The film Wet Bum also screened at the festival. She played the role of Berlice Beaman in 8 of the 10 streaming episodes of When the Street Lights Go On in 2020.
