Mary Judith Hughes, her married name, kept the name Judy Sinclair throughout her career, a career that began on stage when she was just six years old. She attended Saint Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg and graduated from York University in Ontario in 1995 with a degree in English, long after her career had started. Almost constantly at work, she had become a stage veteran while still in her early twenties, appearing in a wide variety of plays including Philadelphia Story, Our Town, Twelfth Night, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Crucible, and The Moon is Blue. In addition to her work in film and television, listed below, her voice was heard in more than 600 CBC radio plays. Her career included numerous television commercials and print ads. She was 87 when she died in Toronto.
