Jonny Harris

Jonny Harris graduated from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College’s School of Fine Arts and has extensive experience in both classical and contemporary theatre. His first one-man show, Out Of The Bog, was directed by CODCO’s Andy Jones and led to several solo comedic performances. He has made several appearances on The Halifax Comedy Festival, and in 2005 wrote for, and hosted, the 20th anniversary Newfoundland Arts Awards. He is a founding member and continues to perform with the St. John’s sketch comedy troupe The Dance Party of Newfoundland. Harris is pictured as Constable George Crabtree on CBC’s crime-drama Murdoch Mysteries, for which he has garnered two Gemini nominations for Best Supporting-Lead in a Dramatic Series. His stand-up special for Comedy Now! brought a 2012 Canadian Screen Award nomination in the category of Best Performance in a Variety of Sketch Comedy Program or Series.
