Jonathan Watton has worked in TV, film and theatre for more than two decades. He played Commander Mathew Calhoun in 6 episodes of season 3 of the Emmy-winning series The Handmaid’s Tale, which is shot in Toronto and around southern Ontario. He previously played Dr. Darcy Garland in 14 episodes of The Murdoch Mysteries between 2011 and 2013. He is an actor-writer-director. A recent alumni of Norman Jewison’s prestigious Canadian Film Centre Film Director’s program, his career as a filmmaker has seen his award-winning short films screen at festivals around the world.
