Janis Spence

Janis Spence is a writer, actor and director living and working in St. John`s. The author of three stage plays, Chickens, Catlover, and Walking to Australia, she has also written extensively for radio and television. Her book, On the beach is spanish room is a collection of six previously unpublished inter-connected contemporary short stories. She had suffered a stroke in late 2007 and had not been well after that. According to various news reports at the time, Spence had lapsed into a coma sometime before she died. Janis Spence was married to the late playwright Michael Cook. Their son is the actor Sebastian Spence.
