Janine Theriault grew up in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, where she lived until leaving to attend Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts in Natick, Massachusetts. When she returned to Canada she settled in Montréal. She has been nominated for a Gemini award and a Canadian Comedy Award. In addition to her work in film and television she has also appeared on stage including the Governor General’s Award winning Lenin’s Embalmers and in Montreal’s Centaur Theatre production of God of Carnage, and the glowingly reviewed Glass Menagerie. She landed her first role in a Québec mini-series about Olivier Guimond by walking off the street into an agency and declaring that she wanted to be an actor.
