Jacqueline McClintock

Jacqueline McClintock was the 10th and youngest child born to a French-Canadian mother, Elianne Rodrigue, and an Irish-Canadian father, Donald McClintock. She began her career as an actor, having trained first at the Dome Theatre at Montréal’s Dawson College, then at Bishop’s University and the film program at Concordia University. Her greatest inspiration came in 1998 when she studied acting under American coach Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Ultimately she decided it was unhealthy for actors to spend their days sitting around waiting for the phone to ring and so decided to teach, beginning simply by sharing tips with a handful of actor friends. Her reputation spread by word-of-mouth and she became one of the most sought after acting teachers in Canada. She would go one to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced classes in Toronto, Montreal, Amsterdam, Munich and Palma, Spain. Rachelle Lefevre, Scott Speedman, Anna Hopkins and Jessica Paré are just a few who sought her guidance. McClintock was 55 when she died of lung cancer in Toronto, four months after she had been diagnosed.
