Fanny Mallette grew up interested in judo, but became interested in theatre and is a graduate of the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal. She also went to L’école de théâtre Les Milles Visages, as well as the CÉGEP St-Laurent where she specilized in dramatic arts, before enrolling in and subsequently graduating from the National Theatre School in 1998. She was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in Continental, un film sans fusil. She has also been nominated for a Jutra Award for Best Actress in Les muses orphelines and Une jeune fille à la fenêtre. She played the role of Julie Beauchemin in 40 episodes of Mensonges between 2014 and 2018.
