Evangeline Lilly was discovered on the streets of Kelowna, B.C. by the famous Ford modelling agency. She initially passed on a modelling career, but six months later moved to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia, and signed with Ford to help pay her tuition. She plays the Elven character Tauriel (pictured above) in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The inclusion of Tauriel sparked some anger in the Lord of the Rings fan base because the character was created by The Hobbit screenwriters and isn’t from the original J.R.R. Tolkien’s stories. She costars as Hope van Dyne/the Wasp in the films Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is Marvel’s first movie to feature a female hero in the title.
