Eli Goree earned a degree in Film and Television acting from the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto. He played the role of Dave Albritton in the film Race, which was about Jesse Owens life leading up to the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Goree plays the role of Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali in the 2020 feature One Night in Miami, based on the play by first-time playwright Kemp Powers, which was first performed in 2013. The movie marked the directorial debut of actress Regina King.
